Rishi Kapoor was not at all disturbed at the fact that Pakistani government has decided to pull down and demolish Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home.
Rishi Kapoor was not at all miffed about the fact that Pakistan’s provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to demolish Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home. Rishi was not at all worried about it and said the family had no relation at all to the house.

“We came to India even before the partition happened and never did see the house. I don’t know why others are having an issue, when we ourselves don’t have any problem with the demolition. We three brothers never stayed there. Why would we have a problem?” said Rishi.
Kapoor also said that he was fine with the Pakistani government demolishing the house, since he didn’t harbour any emotional attachment to the house.
“We don’t have any emotional connect to that house since we haven’t seen it. Let the Pakistan government demolish it. I am not even sure if that was Raj Kapoor’s own house or rented because he didn’t have that much money then to own a house. So I don’t think that anyone from the Kapoor family has any problem with that,” he said.

The house is located near Peshawar’s famous Qissa Khwani Bazar and used to be six stories long and had several rooms. The government wanted to turn it into a museum but couldn’t since the present owners did not agree to a price.
